Tensions have been building again between Oldham’s Muslim community & the significant numbers of new Romanian A2 EU migrant’s after a spate of robberies including three at Mosques. After it emerged that money had been offered online to behead the culprit of a Mosque robbery GM Police said on social media “We are aware that people are very concerned about the recent offences, but it is vitally important that community members act responsibly and do not take matters into their own hands. There has been a lot of comments on social media and within the community, including some offensive comments labelling people of particular backgrounds as being involved in crime. It is important to recognise that there are criminals in all communities, and it is unfair to blame whole groups of people for the behaviour of a minority.”
