In 2014 poverty stricken Oldham continued to have the highest birth rate in Greater Manchester at 73.9 births per 1000 women. MP Debbie Abrahams & Council leader Jim McMahon, oddly enough, leave Oldham’s GM highest birth rates out of their ongoing rants about tax credit and “family” benefit cuts. The average birth rate for England in 2014 18.8% lower than Oldham.
